In 2018, an alliance between two seasoned businessmen, Sylvio Proteau and Yves Duplessis, gave rise to BEQ Technology. The idea originated from their shared passion for cars, green technologies, and a desire to be part of change. With over 30 years of experience in communications, Mr. Proteau is the founder of ADG Communication Marketing and has successfully built Affaires de Gars, one of Quebec’s most popular online magazines for men.
BEQ Technology is a fully automated platform dedicated to the sale and installation of residential and commercial charging stations. Together, Mr. Proteau and Mr. Duplessis have assembled a team of highly skilled electrical specialists whose mandate is to carry out rigorous installations of residential, commercial, and condominium charging stations.
In April 2021, Sylvio Proteau and his team launched a dealer program across Quebec and the rest of Canada. This new program is driving rapid expansion and enabling the company to meet the needs of its customers, wherever they are. They have also developed their own products, which have been quickly adopted by international companies such as ABB, Girardin, Groupe Point S, UAP NAPA, Batterie Experts, Vast Auto, and many others. Vision, growth, and quality: these are the founding pillars of our entrepreneurs.
In November 2023, Sylvio Proteau became the principal owner of BEQ Technology after buying out his original partner, Mr. Duplessis. At the same time, Mr. Michael Laroche, a loyal partner since the very beginning, was promoted to Vice President.
The goal and vision for 2024 are now focused on growth in the rest of Canada and the United States. With a strong team of experienced engineers, the company launches its own charging stations for cars, trucks, electric recreational vehicles, and other innovative products.
“Our vision is clear,” says Mr. Proteau, “the market is evolving, offering extraordinary potential for visionary minds and passionate teams. We are seizing this opportunity with determination. We are ready to take on the challenge!”
